The two former Women’s Match Racing World Champions in the fleet, Lucy Macgregor (GBR) and Claire Leroy (FRA), lead the way with unblemished records after the first day of racing in the 2012 Busan Cup Women’s International Match Race in Busan, South Korea. Both Macgregor and Leroy are previous winners in Busan and were able to use their experience in the Bakewell-White 30s to their advantage.

The twelve teams took to the waters off of Busan under clear skies and a breeze that started light and built to a nice 12-15 knots in the afternoon.

Racing continues through Sunday 28 October in the waters off Haeundae with activities planned on shore throughout the event. The twelve teams will compete in a round robin series followed knock out quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals to determine the champion and who will take home the coveted trophy and the winner’s share of the rich prize pool.
