World Sailing Match Race Rankings - 18 May 2016

The World Sailing Match Race rankings have been released with Ian Williams (GBR) and Camilla Ulrikkeholm Klinkby (DEN) still top of the respective Open and Women’s rankings.

Williams continues his reign as #1, but Taylor Canfield (ISV) keeps on putting the pressure on the Briton with another win in the World Match Racing Tour, this time in Copenhagen.

With Canfield edging ever closer, Williams retains top spot thanks to results over the previous 24-month period, but he will be looking to change his fortunes in the M32 regattas as his rival continues to impress.

Karol Jablonski (POL) is a big mover this month, up to #73 from a previous #182. The jump is thanks to a win in the only Grade 1 regatta of the current period at the 19th Match Race Germany.

The women’s top three remain the same as Ulrikkeholm holds the #1 spot followed by Anne-Claire Le Berre (FRA) in second and Anna Kjellberg Ostling (SWE) third.

This ranking will be used to issue the invitations for the 2016 Women’s Match Racing World Championship in September in Sheboygan, USA.
