2010 Busan Cup Women’s International Match Race - Day Four


A bit of waiting started day four of the 2010 Busan Cup Women’s International Match Race. After a long postponement in the morning waiting for the wind and waves to subside, the Race Committee finally called the teams out on the water just before lunch time for the Semi-Finals and the Knock-Out Series for 5th to 8th.

By virtue of winning the Round Robin, Claire Leroy (FRA) was given the opportunity to choose her opponent in the Semi-Finals and chose Stephanie Hazard (NZL).

Semi-Final Results:
Claire Leroy (FRA) beat Stephanie Hazard (NZL) 3 - 1
Katie Spithill (AUS) beat Lucy Macgregor (GBR) 3 - 2

This sets up the Finals: Leroy v. Spithil and the Petit-Finals: Hazard v. Macgregor for tomorrow.

In the knock-out series for 5th through 8th:
Cristiana Monina (ITA) defeated Sally Barkow (USA)
Ekaterina Kutovaya (RUS) defeated Camilla Ulrikkeholm (DEN)
then
Cristiana Monina (ITA) defeated Ekaterina Kutovaya (RUS)
Camilla Ulrikkeholm (DEN) defeated Sally Barkow (USA)

Results (5th through 12th):

7) Camilla Ulrikkeholm (DEN)
