Basic Match Racing Clinic - South America
CLINIC: FUNDAMENTALS OF BASIC MATCH RACE

After three days of discussions on rules, drills in the water, a lot of emotion and especially great learning opportunities the Basic Match Race Clinic ended on Monday.

This clinic was the first of a series of match race training that will precede the Nations Cup Regional Final-South America which will host the Veleiros do Sul in Porto Alegre.

The basic clinic was conducted by International Umpires Ricardo "Blu" Lobato and Nelson Ilha through videos, photos and footage brought to the students real life experiences of Match Race. In total there were 21 students in this first clinic from several countries South America

Yesterday started the Umpire Clinic which will take the next two days to train new umpires on the continent. This is being taught by Philippe Gomez (FRA) and Sally Burnett (GBR).

And today starts to Advanced Match Race Clinics in the brand new fleet of Olympic class boats, Elliott 6m.
