2011 Delta Lloyd Regatta - Start of Day Four

(From the Delta Lloyd Regatta website)

Gold, Repechage and Silver about to start

This morning the last Round Robin matches of Group B were completed. Due to a procedural error Team Bossard from France could re-sail its match against Team Lethinen from Finland. The French lost a later protest, so the Gold, Repechage and Silver groups could be formed.

The Dutch trio Groeneveld/Bes/Lievens won Group B of the Round Robin, followed by five teams tied on six points. To determine the top three, the results of those six teams were compared to each others, leaving the other results out. However, they were still tied. The following step was to compare their results to the group’s winner. The Chinese Team Wang won its match against Team Groeneveld, so they finished second. The number three and four, and five and six were again tied. The final ranking was based on comparing those pairs with each other.
