NZL Sailing Team Women’s Match Racing Championship - Preview
With the count down to the Olympics hotting up the pressure is on for New Zealand’s top women sailors to make the grade to compete in the women’s match racing event in Weymouth.

A key regatta will be the ISAF Sailing Championship in Perth in December where countries will get the chance to win a slot in the Olympic match racing event.

Yachting New Zealand is keen to encourage more women into match racing in order to grow the pool of sailors who have the potential to represent New Zealand in this discipline at the ISAF Sailing World Championship, and ultimately at the 2012 Olympic Games.

The NZL Sailing Team Women’s Match Racing Championship is the opportunity for New Zealand’s top women match racers to stake their claim for the team. The racing will be intense! Racing begins Thursday 06 October and continues through Sunday 09 October 2011.

Five teams will be competing for the chance to represent NZL in Perth:
